On the 25th April, 2015, the first Celebration event will take place at the Salvation Army Citadel, 28 Castle Street, Aberdeen at 7pm.
Special guests include the Lord Provost; The Moderator of the Church of Scotland and the Episcopal Bishop of Aberdeen; sadly the RC Bishop is out of the country that day.
It will be an enjoyable evening with music from the Salvation Army Scottish Fellowship Band in its 30th anniversary year.
We shall also be launching our appeal for our new Building Fund – we currently use part of the old offices of Gulf Offshore, but we need to secure permanent premises to grow the existing facilities.
In only its third year of operation, the centre has grown in many ways and gained an international reputation for its friendly welcome and free facilities, including 10 Skype enabled PC stations, wi-fi throughout the building, two pool tables, darts, table football, large screen TV, karaoke, reading/counselling room, Wii games, board games and an extensive book and DVD exchange library.
Open every evening of the year between the hours of 1800 and 2200, all seafarers have a place to get off their ‘tin box’ and meet with other seafarers to relax and to contact their families back home.

MARINERS DINNER DANCE, SATURDAY 14th FEBRUARY 2015
Once again the Nautical Institute, North of Scotland Branch will hold our fund-raising Mariners Dinner Dance at the Holiday Inn, Aberdeen West Hotel, Westhill on Saturday
The ticket price is £42 per person and the hotel offers rooms at a discounted price of £85 B&B. As usual there will be a three course dinner with coffee, followed by dancing.
We can accommodate individual requests, small groups or tables of 10. We will run our usual raffle and auction with excellent prizes due to the generosity of our supporters.
The monies made from this fundraising event help our Port Chaplains in their ministry to
Seafarer’s in North-East Scottish ports. From last year’s event we made £5,100 to help
with Seafarers‘ Welfare and local Sea Cadet Corps.
Please contact me for a booking form with the details as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
If you are unable to attend this event but are willing to donate an auction / raffle prize this will, of course, be greatly appreciated and your company will be listed in the event’s programme for the evening.
I thank you for your support in the support of this charity event.
